Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas Expert Review

oasis of the sea cruise ship

The H2O Zone is a signature Royal Caribbean family water park, and the Sports Pool is restricted to lap swimmers in the morning and team water sports in the afternoon. Then there’s the new The Perfect Storm — not one, not two, but three waterslides, named Typhoon, Cyclone and Supercell. (In other words, it really is the perfect storm for fun.) And then there’s the Caribbean pool deck, with a kids aqua park, poolside bar, live music, hammocks, casitas, in-pool loungers, and more. No matter what cruise room you choose for your next globetrotting getaway, you’ll find a stay with us is like nothing at sea. Pool Deck (deck 15) was completely renovated and redesigned, also receiving "The Lime and Coconut" (2-level poolside bar/first added on Navigator OTS).

Royal Caribbean confirms order for seventh Oasis Class ship.

Oasis of the Seas was the first ship in Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class. With a capacity of nearly 7,000 passengers, length of 1,187 feet, and gross tonnage of 225,282, she was the world’s largest cruise ship when she launched and remains one of biggest cruise ships in the world today. Introducing the new Icon of the Seas℠, a whole new class of Royal Caribbean® adventure.

BEYOND THE BEACH

Take a nature walk or a Jeep adventure through the pine forests, or stretch your legs at the Rand Nature Center, which offers bird-watching and installations by local artists. Soak up island views and aquatic adventures with a cruise to the Bahamas. Trade “sea days” for “see more” days on an all-around all-star - Freedom of the Seas®. Experience more to do onboard the ship, with fewer days between some of the world's most exotic travel destinations. Feel the heat of adventure in The Magic City and cool off with with a cruise to the Bahamas or Caribbean from the Miami cruise port on some of our most amped up ships yet. There isn’t a vacation in the world that packs more adventure into one week than Oasis Class ships — Harmony®, Allure®, Symphony®, Oasis, Wonder® and Utopia of the Seas℠.

ROOM SERVICE

Interior staterooms are further broken down into several additional categories, including interior accessible rooms, promenade-view interior rooms and Central Park-view interior rooms. If you feel like a standard interior room is a bit too boxy and cramped for your liking, go with one of the staterooms that come with a view of the inside of the ship. While it’s not the same as an ocean view, it’ll still make the room feel a bit airier and bigger. In 2019, the ship received $165 million worth of refurbishments, including the addition of waterslides (like the Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea), new restaurants and new children’s amenities. Sail from Rome or Barcelona onboard the wow-worthy Oasis of the Seas® to Western Mediterranean shores.

Royal Promenade

There are currently four Oasis-class ships in Royal Caribbean’s fleet. Oasis of the Seas was the first Oasis-class ship, delivered in 2009 and at the time breaking records for passenger capacity. Allure of the Seas followed in 2010, along with Harmony of the Seas in 2016 and Symphony of the Seas in 2018. The fleet also includes Wonder of the Seas and the upcoming Utopia of the Seas. In the Oasis of the Seas casino, you can find easy ways to test your luck, whether you’re an avid gambler or someone new to (all) the games.

On Oasis of the Seas you’ll find interior, oceanview, and balcony cabins, as well as a wide selection of suites. Outside of signature activities, there are even more activities listed each day in the Cruise Compass, such as family scavenger hunts, kids karaoke, family craft time at Adventure Ocean, etc. In addition to the main pool deck, which is accessible to guests of all ages, is an adults-only Solarium for guests 16 and older. Simply put, there’s a huge variety of entertainment on Oasis of the Seas, and you’ll find several options to choose from every night of the cruise.

Cruisers are often drawn to sister ship Symphony of the Seas for similar itineraries in the Caribbean. One-of-a-kind thrills and weeklong discoveries await you on Oasis of the Seas®. Show off your wave-taming skills on two FlowRider® surf simulators.

In addition to the various cuisines, the ambiance ranges from casual to chic and elegant. Four distinctly different pools and several whirlpools provide plenty of space for water fun. The Beach Pool has a sloped entry allowing guests to wade into the pool. The Main Pool is surrounded by sun lounges and is flanked by two whirlpools.

If you’re into adrenaline-amping experiences, you’ll find plenty of bucket list worthy thrills to conquer on Perfect Day at CocoCay — from white-knuckle waterslides to the largest wave pool in the Caribbean. A daily stateroom attendant dedicated to making sure your stay is spectacular. Nightly turn down service so you can rest easy before the next day’s adventures.

From non-stop thrills to mouthwatering dining and the hit Broadway musical Grease, this fan-favorite is your ticket to a memory-maxing getaway. Almost 2,000 have balconies that overlook the ocean to catch the breeze, Central Park, or the Boardwalk. Oasis has 37 different categories of cabins and suites, so there is certainly an accommodation to suit everyone's tastes and pocketbooks. The signature Rock Climbing Wall lets you climb 40 feet above the deck. Introducing Utopia of the Seas℠ — the ship that’s totally transforming weekends for good.

First are the Perfect Storm waterslides, a pair of twisting and turning racing slides. The other slide, the Supercell, first sends riders twisting and turning downhill before being emptied into a bowl, where they spin several times in a circle before sliding into a hole at the bottom. There are four distinct pool areas on the Oasis of the Seas pool deck.

The kids can get crafty at the Imagination Studio, with all kinds of craft materials available.
